Joan Scialo-Rubin, has been a registered nurse since 1977 and board certified as a Holistic Nurse by the American Holistic Nurses Certification Corporation since 2002. She received her Holistic Nursing education from Seeds and Bridges, Northampton, MA. in 2001. Joan is passionate about teaching her clients how to integrate complimentary medicine with allopathic medicine.
Having had a severe back injury and breast cancer, Joan is knowledgeable about the importance of this integration. Joan began her holistic nursing education in 1984 with Theraputic Touch, founded by Dolores
Krieger, PHD.,RN. She has studied with Reiki Master Patricia Warren since 1995 and has completed four levels of Reiki Jin Kei Do. Also, in 1993, Joan began to study Healing Touch founded by Janet Mentgen, RN and has completed three levels. Her professional experience has included twenty years of work with children/adolescence and their families with Behavioral Health issues.
Both Reiki and Healing Touch are complimentary healing modalities. It is the gentle use of specific hand patterns and energy balancing techniques to align the human energy field on the torso, head, back and legs. These modalities can be used in combination with traditional therapies. Suitable for any age.
Joan is a wife, mother of three daughters and loves the outdoors and gardening. Her belief that surrounding oneself with nature is healing and that our presence to each other is what ultimately heals.
